These days cricketers are investing significant amounts of money on specialised cricket shoes to support their feet and maximise their performance. This is great, however the vast majority also forget to purchase cricket socks that will provide additional comfort.

Spending hours out on the field, batting, bowling and fielding, can cause the feet to perspire, which leaves shoes damp. This unfortunately creates a level of discomfort for players, which could potentially impact performance. It’s therefore important for any cricket player to wear high-quality cricket socks that are designed to maximise comfort by keeping the feet cool and dry.

There is currently a great variety of high-quality cricket socks available to buy. We have considered 12 cricket socks and picked out 6 that will provide you with fantastic levels of comfort throughout games.

Best Cricket Socks - Editor's Choice

  • Merino wool padding
  • Reinforced with Cordura to prevent wear and tear
  • Lycra to ensure elasticity wash after wash
  • Ventilation channels
  • Colour: Oatmeal
  • Sizes: 6.5-9, 9.5-12

Our favourite cricket sock for 2021 is the Horizon Test Cricket Sock. The perfect hybrid, this casual yet technical sock has all the features to ensure it remains a firm favourite amongst the cricketing world for the new season.

The first thing to note is how comfortable this sock is. Merino wool makes up 37% of each sock, which results in an extremely soft product. The wool is extremely thick, which ensures excellent cushioning throughout. This is great for protecting your feet from any nasty blisters that could be obtained from long periods of play.

The heel and toes are reinforced with Cordura – a reinforced fabric to ensure durability in the heel and toe areas where socks typically rip or tear.  We found that the small amount of Lycra added to the top of the sock ensures that shape is retained wash after wash.

To keep the feet cool, Horizon have used polypropylene in the sole which helps to wick and dry moisture. Ventilation channels are placed strategically along the side of the sock, which ensures adequate airflow to the feet. During long periods of play, we found the feet remained dry throughout.

We think the Oatmeal colour way works well with any type of cricket clothing. The socks are suitable to wear with cricket whites and will look equally as good with any T20 jerseys.

These socks are affordable, yet could be considered expensive for a pair of socks. Despite this, we still think the features create an exceptionally durable sock which offers excellent performance and value for money.  We consider these to be the ultimate cricket sock for cricketers of all levels.
